At Roseland Optometry, our team combines experienced, relationship-based care with modern diagnostic technology, proactive eye health management, and a growing focus on advanced dry eye care. We believe that eye exams should do more than update a prescription — they should help detect concerns early, protect long-term vision, and give patients practical guidance for everyday eye comfort and wellness.

Dr. Julie Jongepier completed her Bachelor Honours Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees at the University of Waterloo. As part of her optometric training, she worked extensively with ophthalmologists in Tallahassee, Florida, in clinics specializing in cataract surgery, glaucoma, LASIK, neuro-ophthalmology, and oculoplastics. She also gained valuable ocular disease experience while working in Kingston, Jamaica.
After graduation, Dr. Jongepier received the Ontario Association of Optometrists Award for Excellence in Patient Management. She began practicing in her hometown of London before opening her Burlington practice in 2000. She is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, the Ontario Association of Optometrists, and Eye Recommend, Canada’s Vision Care Professionals. She is certified through the College of Optometrists of Ontario to prescribe ocular therapeutics.
Dr. Jongepier’s approach to care emphasizes prevention, early detection, and the connection between overall health and eye health. Her clinical interests include dry eye disease, ocular nutrition, pediatric care, contact lenses, and the management of eye conditions that benefit from careful monitoring over time.
As Roseland Optometry continues to grow, Dr. Jongepier remains focused on combining trusted clinical experience with modern optometric technology and treatment options. Her goal is to help patients understand their eye health clearly, manage concerns proactively, and feel confident in their care plan.

Dr. Sandeep Bahugun completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the University of Waterloo and her Doctor of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston.
Dr. Bahugun has diverse clinical experience in primary care, advanced pediatrics, ocular disease, and low vision across a variety of clinical settings. She has a strong interest in early detection and timely intervention, especially for children, where proactive care can make a meaningful difference in long-term visual development and comfort.
Her approach is thoughtful, educational, and patient-centred. She values taking the time to explain findings clearly, answer questions, and help patients and parents understand their options. Whether she is providing a routine eye exam, monitoring an eye condition, or supporting a child’s visual needs, Dr. Bahugun focuses on giving patients practical information they can use.
Dr. Bahugun is also passionate about humanitarian work and looks forward to providing optometric care locally and internationally. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys learning about new cultures through travel and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Danielle Wickert completed her Honours Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees at the University of Waterloo. Her clinical training gave her broad experience in comprehensive optometric care across a diverse range of patients and clinical settings.
Dr. Wickert has particular interests in myopia control, dry eye management, and comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages. Being highly nearsighted herself, she brings a personal understanding to myopia management and the importance of monitoring vision changes over time. She is also focused on making eye care accessible, comfortable, and understandable for every patient, including infants, children, individuals with physical disabilities, and patients with special needs. Her care style is built around strong doctor-patient relationships, clear communication, and treatment plans that patients can feel confident following.
Dr. Wickert’s interest in dry eye management reflects Roseland Optometry’s broader commitment to modern, proactive care. She helps patients understand the causes of eye discomfort and works with them to find practical strategies for improving comfort, screen-related symptoms, and day-to-day quality of vision.
When she is not looking at eyes, you may find her unwinding with a good medical drama, getting lost in a book, or turning a paint-by-numbers into a work of art.
Our team includes reception, certified optometric assistants, frame stylists, and optometry students. Together, they support each step of the patient experience — from booking appointments and preparing patients for testing, to assisting with modern diagnostic technology, contact lens support, eyewear selection, and follow-up care.
The staff at Roseland Optometry play an important role in our proactive approach to eye care. They help patients understand testing, navigate treatment recommendations, choose eyewear that fits their needs, and feel supported before, during, and after their appointment.
As eye care continues to evolve, our team remains focused on combining warm, personal service with efficient systems, modern technology, and a strong commitment to long-term patient eye health.
